Ex-minister of Nepal aims to scale Everest at 81!

81-YEAR-OLD Shailendra Kumar Upadhyaya, a former Nepali minister, has set off for Mount Everest in an attempt to set the record as the oldest person to scale the world's highest peak. He served as Nepal's foreign minister and permanent UN representative in the 1970s and 1980s. He plans to break the current record held by another Nepali Min Bahadur Sherchan. Good luck to him!
