Nepal through to U-19 World Cup

Nepal has qualified for the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2012 to be held in Australia after a 10-run victory over host Ireland in the ICC U-19 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday. Nepal had failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup after losing to Afghanistan in the semifinals of the ACC Elite Cup 2009.

In Saturday’s rain-affected match, Nepal was invited to bat first and scored 187 runs losing seven wickets in 46 overs. In reply, Ireland was restricted to 175 runs chasing a revised target of 186. Rahul BK took four wickets in the last over to guide Nepal to the World Cup.
