Tour De' Lumbini

A bicycle rally was held from Nepali capital Kathmandu to Lumbini on the occasion of Visit Lumbini Year-2012 and the Buddha Jayanti. With the objective of promoting domestic and international tourism, and publicising Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha in Southern Nepal the rally started on May 4 and ended on May 6 Day 1 Friday(04 May 2012) Kathmandu to Naraynghat, Day 2 Saturday(05 May 2012 ) Narayanghat to Butwal, Day 3 Sunday(06 May 2012) Butwal to Lumbini. Nepali cyclist Pushkar Shah led the rally which was organized by the World Cyclists Foundation. Some 150 Nepalese and around 15 foreign cyclists participated in the rally which covered a distance of some 300 kilometers.
