Women’s National Football Team Announced


All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced its final 20 member women’s team for the  Second SAFF Women’s Championship which is to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from September 7 to 17. 


The Final team includes: Jamuna Gurung, Anu Lama, Anjali Waiba, Sajana Rana, Niru Thapa, Dipa Adhikari, Dhim Kumari Gurung, Usha Bhandari, Chandra Bhandari, Bhagwati Thapa, Krishna Khatri, Pramila Rai, Yashoda Lama, Laxmi Poudel, Rina Gubaju, Tulasa Singh, Nisha Bohara, Chandra Devi Dahal, Namita Dali, Lila Lamgade. Nepal’s team is coached by Kishor Kumar KC and captained by Jamuna Gurung. 

Nepal is the runner-up of the first edition of SAFF Women´s Championship.  Coach KC hopes for better result this time and has made a clear target to lift the Championship trophy. Eight SAARC Countries are participating in the championship. Nepal is kept in group B of the tournament along with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Maldives. Group A includes India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. 

Nepal will be facing Pakistan in its first match on September 8 with Maldives on September 10 and the last group stage match with Afghanistan on September 12. ANFA has spent RS 3 million for the preparations and participation of the women’s team. Ncell is currently the sponsor of the women’s national team.
